Our Cafes

We love being able to serve up our fairly traded coffees and cocoas for customers and directly engage around where they come from in a meaningful way.

Our cafés in Boston and Seattle, and our pedal-powered coffee trikes in Boston, have provided us with many exciting opportunities.

After working for six months, baristas and trike riders are eligible to petition to be on the “worker-owner track” at Equal Exchange. Once worker-owner track, they are eligible to receive benefits and they are also on the path to become an owner of the organization; the process is the same as it would be for any other full-time employee at our Equal Exchange. Bringing ownership to the cafe setting has definitely come with some challenges, but we're learning more about how to do it each day.
