Job Status: Full time regular position (~45 hours/week)
Salary: Dependent on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce Buying and Logistics (70%):
    • Place weekly orders, send payments, manage ocean transport, and customs
    • Co-manage projections, procurement, and inventory management
    • Oversee contract negotiations; ensure and improve contract compliance; maintain organic and Fairtrade documentation for supply chain audits; report sales and purchases to Fairtrade standards body
    • Manage quality control and claim process
    • Co-facilitate effective and fair business relationships with farmer coops through 1-2 annual visits and regular skype, phone and email communication
    • Engage with global Fairtrade and banana organizations
    • Support other tasks associated with import of banana, banana puree and avocados
  • Marketing and Education (20%): Develop content about producer partners for sales and marketing; implement grassroots marketing efforts to build store and consumer awareness of brand mission through demos, social media, print, store staff trainings, educational lectures
  • Team (10%): Work with the Oke team to manage new sales, supply chain development and creative thinking around building alternative fair trade supply chains 



  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English. High level or fluency required

  • 2 or more years in produce
  • Experience with Latin American producer groups 
  • Experience with perishable commodity logistics
