The coffee world is always changing and evolving – that’s part of what makes it so exciting. Lately, there’s been a lot of buzz about Keurig* coffee makers and K-cup* single serve coffee, and everyone at Equal Exchange has been in on the conversation. We’ve been listening, too, to the concerns and preferences of our customers and doing everything we can to learn about this new corner of the coffee market. After many months of discussion and development, we have an exciting announcement: Equal Exchange is now offering three of our most popular blends in single serve cups for your Keurig. We’re proud to be able to offer you a single serve cup that’s truly different: environmentally friendly, good for farmers and absolutely delicious.

Coffee lovers are discerning people, and there’s a lot to say about its many flavors, aromas, and origins – but one of the biggest differences between coffees is most striking before it even reaches your cup.

Equal Exchange is proud to launch a new joint tea project with our sister co-operative in the United Kingdom, Equal Exchange Trading Ltd.

Co-ops have represented the heart of Fair Trade and its goal of building markets for small farmers from the beginning and we have joined forces to advance the work of authentic Fair Trade. At a time when corporations and plantations threaten the integrity of this movement, we are excited to be working in partnership to bring consumers and farmers around the world closer together.

Our first shipment of avocados from Mexico has just arrived and is being stored in a warehouse on the East Coast.  Soon, food co-operatives and natural food stores in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Upper Midwest will not only be carrying our small farmer bananas, but also these tasty avocados from Pragor, a small farmer co-op in Michoacan, Mexico. The first shipment of avocados arrives in the U.S.!

Coffee. Tea. Chocolate. Bananas. Almonds. Olive Oil. Geobars. Last year we decided to add cashew nuts into the mix of new products we sell to food co-ops and consumers. You could sense the excitement in the meeting rooms of Equal Exchange from the moment the decision was made. For over twenty five years, food co-ops have been some of our strongest allies. They helped Equal Exchange launch the fair trade movement when we were just starting out, bringing Nicaraguan coffee from small farmer co-operatives into the U.S. for the first time.
